Help the USA Sail for Gold!

US SAILING depends on donations to support our long-term Olympic and Paralympic goals. We have developed an approach that fosters talent over time, and we hope you will choose to join our effort.

Starting with elite youth development, we invest in the future of our sport by offering coaching and grant assistance to a small group of performers. Later, as sailors grow up and prove themselves, they can earn places on our two ranking-based teams. Sailors who rank in the top three in their class are invited to join the US Sailing Team AlphaGraphics and the US Disabled Sailing Team AlphaGraphics. Through those teams, we assist the Olympic and Paralympic campaigns of 72 athletes. As the sailors qualify for the Games in Qingdao, China, their number whittles down to a select 24 who will sail for gold. US SAILING provides support to these sailors, but they generate much of their campaign funding themselves. These team members exhibit personal drive and hard work to achieve their status and we offer support to those who deserve it. We have faith in every member of our Olympic and Paralympic Teams and ask you to consider supporting the quest for gold in Qingdao, China.

Over the past three years, US SAILING and specifically the US Olympic Sailing Program, have made remarkable financial improvements. The Olympic budget is now significantly larger than it has ever been, and the vast majority of the budget is spent where it should be spent: on our athletes. 85% of our 2007 funded budget was spent directly on our elite athletes. As we complete the final few steps towards Qingdao and begin our preparation for Weymouth, England in 2012, we need your help to keep the momentum going.
