US SAILING supports several teams in the quest to win Olympic and Paralympic Gold: the US Sailing Team AlphaGraphics, the US Sailing Development Team, and the U.S. Youth World Team.

USSTAG dominated the Sail for Gold podium

The 2012 U.S. Olympic Team – Sailing is determined in nine of 10 events based on combined performance at two selection events held in 2011: Skandia Sail for Gold, in Weymouth, U.K., and ISAF Combined World Championships, in Perth, Australia.

The nine fleet racing events and equipment: Heavyweight Dinghy (Finn); Women’s One Person Dinghy (Laser Radial); Men’s One Person Dinghy (Laser); Men’s Two Person Dinghy (470 Men); Women’s Two Person Dinghy (470 Women); Men’s Two Person Dinghy High Performance (49er); Men’s Windsurfer (RS:X); Women’s Windsurfer (RS:X); and Men’s Keelboat (Star).

For the Women’s Match Racing (Elliott 6m), two stand-alone events, held in the U.S., determined the Elliott 6m representatives: 2011 WMR U.S. Olympic Team Qualifying Regatta, in Miami, Fla., and 2012 WMR U.S. Olympic Team Qualifying Regatta, in Weymouth, U.K.

The 2012 U.S. Paralympic Team – Sailing is determined in all three events based on combined performance at two selection events held in 2012: IFDS World Championships, in Port Charlotte, Fla., and US SAILING”s Rolex Miami OCR, in Miami, Fla.

The three Paralympic sailing events and equipment: Paralympic Two Person Keelboat (2.4mR), Paralympic Two Person Keelboat (SKUD-18), and Paralympic Three Person Keelboat (Sonar).
