As the 2012 Olympic Games come to a conclusion, the U.S. Olympic Sailing Team is wrapping up in Weymouth and Portland, home to the Olympic sailing venue. After 16 days of competition, the entire team – athletes, coaches, and staff – is finalizing the details involved with closing down the on-site operation. This evening, the team heads to London to spend the evening with their Team USA teammates before celebrating at Sunday’s Closing Ceremony. Continue reading
At the Olympic Sailing Regatta, the final races in Men’s 470 took place with Stuart McNay and Graham Biehl finishing 14th overall for the series, while Amanda Clark and Sarah Lihan are in the hunt for a medal in Women’s 470. Anna Tunnicliffe, Molly O’Bryan Vandemoer and Debbie Capozzi began their Quarter-Final match-up against Finland and are down two losses in the first-to-three-points series. Continue reading

We had a mixed bag of results for Team USA yesterday. On one side of the ledger, both 470 teams had very good days, our 49er had a good day and they are still in the hunt, and our Star team had another fairly consistent day, although they are now mathematically eliminated from medal contention.
