>Rolex Miami OCR: The Weather is “Stuck on Beautiful”

>Footnote to Gary Jobson on this one… I’m stealing his “stuck on beautiful” line, but that just about sums up things here in Miami so far. The weather has been fantastic, the wind has been consistent and all reports have been “great racing.”

We’ve been keeping a close eye on the Paralympic Trials. By the end of this event, we’ll know the six sailors who will represent the USA at the Paralympic Games later this year. In particular, keep an eye on the 2.4mR where reigning Games Bronze Medalist and young challenger Mark LeBlanc are battling it out and are very close on points. Lots of racing left in the Sonar and the Skud as well.

Zach Railey and his protege Caleb Paine are sailing well in the Finn. Zach has three wins so far, and Caleb is nipping at his heels. Erik Storck and Trevor Moore are sailing great in the 49er, leading the fleet after two days. Lots of great sailing going on, and Team USA is putting up some strong early results.

I hope you are paying attention to the event via Cover it Live, which you can find here. And the latest results are here.

Lots more great racing coming up today, all heading towards the Medal Races on Saturday. And each day we are one day closer to the Games… 184 days until the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics and 217 days until the Opening Ceremony of the Paralympics.
